BW Blog Has that video camera got sound on it?

Francesca & James at Beaumont House

If you've read many of my wedding blogs you'll know that I'm always boasting how BW wedding films invariably attract good weather. Well there are very rare exceptions and Fran and James's big day was a good example to show that you don't need beautiful weather for a beautiful wedding, it's all about people. Lovely Fran bravely described it as "a little rain" but I seem to remember it as more like horizontal sleet! All day. Last year's warm March surprised a lot of couples expecting more of the same this year, alas nature doesn't work like that.

Well done to all the girls in the wedding party who gamely risked frostbite on their bare shoulders outside St.Mary's Church, Staines. Actually the scenes of umbrellas turning inside out and balloons blown into the trees made great video as everyone was taking on the elements in good spirit. Reception once again was at the rather wonderful Beaumont House, Windsor. It was too cold to use the landscaped gardens but the beautifully restored 19th century chapel used for the wedding breakfast more than made up for it.

Thanks to Holly & Henry whose wedding I filmed two years ago for recommending me. Henry may not have thought it such a good idea when I caught him and another usher on film mopping up the vestry. Sorry Henry but it made a good opening shot!

Thanks too to photographer Roger Brown who was fun to work with and good company.
