BW Blog Has that video camera got sound on it?

Nick & Lin at Great Fosters

When invited to a family or friend's wedding I usually end up as videographer - it comes with the job! I am also regarded (by some) as the font of all wedding knowledge and invariably consulted on every aspect. So when our friend's son Nick married beautiful Lin in Beijing they asked me for advice on organising a blessing in this country. From my shortlist and with the help of a few of my DVDs they chose fabulous Great Fosters in Egham. It was built in 1550 as a royal hunting lodge and is a Grade One listed building set amongst 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland. It's loaded with history and character and they chose my talented pal Neale James of Breathe Photography who is particularly good at natural light images which the dark panelled interior demands.

My 10yr old grandson James was a guest and as usual was a constant source of amusement. Here's his i-Pad photo of the family group at the signing of the register, competition for Neale.

Being there on both sides of the camera reminded me how enjoyable it is to actually be a guest at a wedding where you know lots of people and you can have a drink (because you have a lift or are staying).

With such sumptuous grounds and a very photogenic bride (sorry Nick I tried with you, ha) I just had to put down my cocktail and grab some romantic film in the gardens. I didn't notice James at the time but it did make us all laugh when we spotted him in the background.

I have to claim some credit here for the lovely warm and sunny day they had. If you've read my previous blogs you'll know that despite the gloomy weather this year the sun always comes out at the right time for BW Videofilms.

Best wishes to Nick and Lin for a very happy and prosperous future in China.
